Configuring NTP on Windows Server 2008

Open command prompt and then run the following command:

w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:pool.ntp.org,0x8 /syncfromflags:MANUAL
net stop w32time
net start w32time

The time will be updated after about 15 seconds.

pool.ntp.org is a round-robin of random selected NTP servers.
If there is a firewall, please make sure the port is opened for port 123.
Run the following command to list the current source, when it last sync’ed, etc

w32tm /query /status

If you want to force to resync, run:

w32tm /resync

P.S.
If the machine is a VM, please disable the time sync with the host machine.
